Google said it will sign the European Union's "General Artificial Intelligence Code of Conduct," but also warned that certain aspects of the framework may hinder the development, deployment, and competitiveness of artificial intelligence in Europe. The company, along with model vendors and other parties in the United States, have adopted this voluntary code. The support for the code aims to expand the scope of safe and high-quality artificial intelligence applications. It is estimated that by 2034, Europe could benefit from 1.4 trillion annually through the deployment of artificial intelligence. Concerns were raised about issues such as copyright, leakage of trade secrets, and approval delays, which are believed to harm the industry's development and competitiveness. Google has promised to cooperate with the EU Artificial Intelligence Office on the implementation of the code.
