Wildfires in southern Albania have caused injuries and evacuations.
A wildfire near the southern town of Delvina in Albania on the 25th resulted in 3 injuries and approximately 2,000 residents being forced to evacuate. Local officials reported that 3 people were burned and suffered from smoke inhalation. In addition, 6 villages with around 2,000 residents were evacuated, and over 10 buildings were destroyed by the fire. Two helicopters were deployed to help extinguish the fire, and by the evening of the 25th, the fire had somewhat decreased in intensity. The Albanian Ministry of Defense stated that approximately 60 soldiers have been dispatched to assist in controlling the fire.
