On April 17th, the Hong Kong Monetary Authority announced the composite interest rate as of the end of March 2025. The composite interest rate, which reflects the average funding cost of banks, was 2.07% at the end of March 2025, a decrease of 2 basis points from the 2.09% at the end of February 2025. The decline in the composite interest rate mainly reflects a decrease in the weighted funding cost of deposits within the month.

The Hong Kong Monetary Authority and the Securities and Futures Commission issued a consultation on the annual update of the list of financial service providers.
