General Administration of Customs: Announcement on the Suspension of Qualifications for the Import of Sorghum from C&D (USA) Inc. and Poultry Bone Meal from American Proteins Inc. in China.

The General Administration of Customs has issued a notice regarding the suspension of the qualification for importing sorghum from C&D (USA) INC. and American Proteins Inc., among others, into China. The notice stated that recently, Chinese customs found aflatoxin and excessive total mold in imported sorghum from the United States, as well as salmonella in imported poultry bone meal from the United States. In order to protect the health of Chinese consumers and the safety of livestock production, in accordance with the Food Safety Law of the People's Republic of China and its implementing regulations, the Import and Export Animal and Plant Quarantine Law of the People's Republic of China and its implementing regulations, the Measures for the Supervision and Administration of Import and Export Inspection and Quarantine of Feed and Feed Additives, as well as relevant provisions of the World Trade Organization's Agreement on the Application of Sanitary and Phytosanitary Measures, the General Administration of Customs has decided to suspend the qualification of C&D (USA) INC. (Chinese registration number: QUSA0824082200028) for sorghum imports, and to suspend the qualifications of American Proteins, Inc. (Chinese registration number: QUSA0423071400055), Mountaire Farms of Delaware, Inc. (Chinese registration number: QUSA0423112000023), and DARLING INGREDIENTS INC. (Chinese registration number: QUSA0423071400061) for poultry bone meal imports from the three companies.
