Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu said in a video statement on the evening of the 19th that Israel will not end its military operations in the Gaza Strip until its operational objectives are achieved. Netanyahu said that the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) rejected a proposal to release some detainees and insisted that Israel end the war and withdraw from the Gaza Strip. He emphasized that Israeli military operations in the Gaza Strip will not end until Hamas is eliminated, all detainees in the Gaza Strip are released, and the Gaza Strip no longer poses a threat to Israel. Netanyahu stated that there are still 24 Israelis detained in the Gaza Strip, with another 35 confirmed dead. The mission is not yet complete, and Israel will increase pressure on Hamas until all operational objectives are achieved. Hamas stated on the 14th that its leadership is studying a proposal received from mediators. A Hamas official on the same day stated that the mediator's proposal includes a 45-day ceasefire period, during which Hamas will release some living Israeli detainees. The proposal also requires Hamas to disarm, a provision that Hamas strongly opposes. Hamas senior official Khalil al-Hayya stated in a video speech on the 17th that Hamas is ready to immediately negotiate a "comprehensive" agreement, exchanging the release of all Israeli detainees for an Israeli ceasefire and withdrawal from the Gaza Strip. He accused Netanyahu and his government of using a "partial" agreement as an excuse to continue the war in Gaza.
