The Market Supervision and Administration Bureau of Shangrao City issued a situation report on September 9th: In July this year, a citizen named Ni reported to our bureau that from June 2023 to June 2025, there were multiple months where the water bill was the same amount, 49.93 yuan. He questioned whether the municipal water company had artificially modified the background billing parameters. After investigation and verification, it was found that the user had 7 months in a span of 2 years where the monthly water usage was calculated as 19 tons, and the payment amount was 49.93 yuan, specifically in December 2023, January, February, and April 2024, and January, April, and June 2025. Due to the common billing method of "rounding to the nearest integer" in the water supply industry, if a user's monthly water usage is relatively stable, it is possible for the monthly water bill amount to be the same.
