The Generation AI Top 100 showcases a new global competitive landscape, with Chinese companies having more advantages in the mobile application field.
In a recently released global ranking of the top 100 applications of artificial intelligence, China and the United States are leading the world. South Korea did not have any products included, which disappointed the South Korean media. The competition between China and the United States in developing AI has attracted global attention, with American media noting that unlike the United States, China has chosen a development path focused on applications, making American technological blockades ineffective. Anderson Horowitz, one of the most influential venture capital institutions in Silicon Valley, has long been regarded as an industry trendsetter in observing global AI development. Their recent report on the "Global Top 100 Consumer-Grade Generative AI Applications" analyzes the competition among consumer-oriented AI products over the past two and a half years based on global traffic: the American legion remains in the lead, while Chinese companies have the advantage in the mobile application field. The report points out that market trends indicate a shift towards a more diversified landscape where no single company can dominate on all platforms. Although OpenAI's ChatGPT still maintains a leading position in the consumer AI field, its advantage is shrinking. According to the technology media outlet TechCrunch, specifically, ChatGPT and Google's Gemini respectively hold the top two positions in generative AI applications for web and mobile, but the gap between the two has significantly narrowed. Elon Musk's Grok, which he leads, has also experienced rapid growth in user numbers.
