The Japanese Liberal Democratic Party decided on the 8th whether to hold an early election for the party leader.
The Election Management Committee of the Liberal Democratic Party issued a notice on September 2 regarding whether to support holding the party president election earlier. Members who wish to hold the election earlier are required to submit signed and stamped documents to the party headquarters by the 8th. The scope of this solicitation of opinions includes 295 Liberal Democratic Party members of the national parliament and 47 representatives from prefectural and municipal branches. According to the relevant regulations of the Liberal Democratic Party, a majority of 172 votes is required to implement the party president election.
