Domestic films "dominate" the box office this year, with China's total film box office continuing to soar.

According to data from online platforms, as of 1:53 pm on August 31, the total box office of Chinese movies in 2025 has exceeded 40 billion yuan. Among them, the total box office in the domestic market is 39.23 billion yuan, with more than 909 million viewers, both higher than last year. So far this year, driven by movies such as "Ne Zha" and "The Photographer of Nanjing", the overseas box office of Chinese movies has exceeded 770 million yuan, reaching a new high in many years.
