According to an unnamed source cited by the Sing Tao Daily, Bank of China Hong Kong plans to apply for a stablecoin issuer license and aims to become one of the first approved issuers. The deadline for the first round of applications is the end of September. Both Bank of China Hong Kong and the Hong Kong Monetary Authority have declined to comment.
