Researcher: Differences in rulings on Trump's tariffs could push the case to be heard by the Supreme Court.
In a 4-3 decision, a panel of seven judges from the United States Federal Appeals Court upheld a ruling made by the International Trade Court in May, which determined that President Trump had improperly invoked emergency powers to implement tariffs beyond his authority. Henrietta Trezz, Director of Economic Policy Research at Veda Partners, stated, "The 7-4 decision means that tariffs are not dead. Normally, the Supreme Court would not take a case where two lower courts had made the same ruling, but the 7-4 split decision and strong pressure from the White House may push the Supreme Court to hear this case."
