The first UNESCO World Teachers' Summit was held, focusing on the global teacher shortage.
The first UNESCO World Teachers' Summit was held at the headquarters of the United Nations Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean in Santiago, Chile from August 28th to 29th. During the event, around 400 people including 16 education ministers and deputy ministers, leaders of relevant international organizations, and teacher representatives from 16 countries discussed topics such as improving teacher working conditions, the impact of artificial intelligence on teacher development, and innovative education financing strategies, in order to find solutions to the global teacher shortage issue.
