The Hainan Provincial Government held a special meeting on the 29th to discuss the implementation of the "Memorandum of Cooperation between Hainan and Hong Kong". Hainan Province Governor Liu Xiaoming pointed out that efforts should be made to accelerate the construction of the Qiongdao Cooperative Demonstration Zones in Haikou and Sanya, deepen cooperation in areas such as biomedicine, high-end consumer goods manufacturing, and retail, and push for breakthroughs in the demonstration zones. There is also a focus on promoting the deep integration of industrial chains, supply chains, and value chains in advantageous areas such as the digital economy, financial openness, and tourism consumption, and accelerating the breakthroughs in key industries. It is important to improve cooperation mechanisms, seize the window of opportunity before the closure of the Hainan Free Trade Port, leverage the role of work mechanisms, promote communication and cooperation between the platforms, promote mutual understanding through cultural exchanges, explore the implementation of more open and flexible policy measures, achieve regular communication and collaboration between Hainan and Hong Kong, further deepen cooperation, and achieve mutual benefit.
