Midday update: The ChiNext Index performed strongly, rising nearly 1%, with the pharmaceutical sector showing strong performance across the board.

The three major indices oscillated narrowly, with the Shanghai Composite Index down 0.08%, the Shenzhen Component Index down 0.04%, the Growth Enterprise Index up 0.92%, and the BeiZhen 50 Index down 0.04% by the close. The total turnover in Shanghai, Shenzhen, and Beijing exceeded 1.1459 trillion yuan, an increase of 7.1 billion yuan from the previous day. Over 3800 stocks in both markets fell. In terms of sectors, the CRO, PET copper foil, and semiconductor sectors rose, while the glyphosate and insurance sectors adjusted. In the CRO sector, all stocks rose, with Aoxiang Pharmaceutical and Jiuzhou Pharmaceutical hitting the daily limit, and Yasheng Technology rising over 17%. The PET copper foil sector strengthened in early trading, with Fangbang Stock 20CM hitting the daily limit, Woguang Optoelectronics hitting the daily limit, and the semiconductor sector rising, with Dongxin Stock 20CM hitting the daily limit. The glyphosate sector fell across the board, with no stocks rising. The insurance sector adjusted, with New China Insurance and China Pacific Insurance falling by more than 1%.
