The Greater Bay Area has started construction again! The Guangzhou-Zhuhai Expressway will be connected to the Lion Channel, and is expected to be opened to traffic in 2027.

On the morning of July 29, the Lion Ocean Channel and the connecting section of Guangzhongjiang Expressway officially started construction. The project is expected to be completed and opened to traffic in 2027. The connecting section of the project starts from the south Zhongda Bridge of Guangzhongjiang Expressway on the Zhongshan side, and connects to the starting point of Lion Ocean Channel in Dagang Town, Nansha District on the east side. The total length of the route is 2033 meters, including the reconstruction of 2 widening bridges and the reconstruction of the Fangma Hub interchange. In addition, the simultaneous implementation of the 465-meter road reconstruction project of the west section of Guige Avenue in Nansha District will also be carried out.
