British media revealed "Musk once requested to shut down 'Starlink', leading to Ukrainian military counterattacks being impeded", SpaceX responds.
Reuters quoted sources on the 25th to disclose that during a key operation by the Ukrainian army against Russia in the fall of 2022, CEO of American aerospace technology company SpaceX, Elon Musk, requested to cut off the service of its satellite internet system "Starlink" in some areas, causing the Ukrainian military counterattack to be frustrated. Reuters reported that sources revealed Musk's decision at the time shocked some employees of the company. Musk did not respond to Reuters' request for comment, and the Ukrainian presidential office and Ministry of Defense have also not responded to requests for comment. However, a spokesperson for SpaceX stated via email that the report was "inaccurate" and suggested that reporters refer to a post released by the company earlier this year, which stated that "Starlink is fully committed to providing services to Ukraine." The spokesperson did not specify which parts of the report were "inaccurate," nor did they answer questions about the incident, Starlink's role in the Russia-Ukraine conflict, and other details.
