According to the Securities Times app, on July 18, the State Council Information Office held a press conference where Xie Shaofeng, the Chief Engineer of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, introduced the development of industry and information technology in the first half of 2025 and answered questions from reporters. Xie Shaofeng stated that the foundation of the industrial economy has been strengthened. They have implemented a new round of work plans to stabilize the growth of ten key industries including steel, non-ferrous metals, petrochemicals, and building materials, and have promoted the restructuring, supply optimization, and elimination of outdated production capacity in these key industries. Specific work plans will be released gradually in the near future. They will support key industrial provinces to play a leading role by implementing support policies, nurturing new growth points, promoting industrial transformation, improving operational quality and efficiency, and responding to external risks, among other aspects, increasing efforts to strengthen the foundation for stable operation of the industrial economy.
