The penetration rate of Level 2 assisted driving in our country has exceeded 50%, driving a new competition in the AI-driven automotive industry.
Currently, the global competition surrounding intelligence has fully unfolded, and China's penetration rate of L2 level assisted driving has exceeded 50%, ranking the highest in the world. At the same time, the penetration rate of new technologies such as parking assistance driving in mid-to-high-end models has also exceeded 20%.
At the recently held 2025 New Energy Intelligent Automobile New Development Forum, Zhang Yongwei, Vice Chairman and Secretary General of the China Electric Vehicle One Hundred People's Association, stated that China's automobile industry has achieved overtaking on electrification and leading on intelligence, but still needs to consolidate its advantages. This means that in the Chinese automobile market, for every two new cars sold, at least one will be equipped with L2 level assisted driving technology. In fact, with the slogan of "All People's Intelligent Driving" by BYD this year, the volume of assisted driving has reached a new high, gradually becoming an important consideration factor for consumers when buying a car.
Zhang Yongwei told reporters that the core competitiveness of the automotive industry is shifting from mechanical hardware to intelligence and AI, and cross-border integration has become the core driving force for restructuring the ecosystem. From now until 2030 is a critical window period for cultivating a culture of intelligent driving and popularizing low-level intelligent driving. Enterprises need to grasp the development goals and pace of intelligent vehicles, seize the initiative in global competition.
