Shanxi issues a yellow warning for geological disaster meteorological risk.

On the morning of August 3, the Shanxi Provincial Department of Natural Resources and the Shanxi Provincial Meteorological Bureau jointly issued a meteorological risk warning for geological disasters: from 9:00 a.m. on August 3, 2026, to 9:00 a.m. on August 4, a higher risk of geological disasters is expected in 45 counties across 8 cities including Taiyuan, Datong, Changzhi, Jinzhong, Yuncheng, Xinzhou, Linfen, and Lliang. Additionally, there is certain risk of geological disasters in 41 counties across 11 cities, including Taiyuan, Datong, Yangquan, Changzhi, Jincheng, Shuozhou, Jinzhong, Yuncheng, Xinzhou, Linfen, and Lliang. Governments, departments, and residents in the aforementioned areas are advised to take appropriate precautionary measures based on the warning level.
