The average position of stock private placements has reached a new high in over four years.
On August 3, a reporter learned exclusively from the third-party organization Private Equity Ranking Network that since June 26, domestic stock private equity funds have maintained an increasing trend for four consecutive weeks, with the average position rising by 2.12 percentage points. As of July 24, the average position of stock private equity funds had climbed to 84.12%, a slight increase of 0.02 percentage points from the previous week. This data not only continues the steady upward trend but also indicates that the average position on July 24 reached a new high, the highest in over four years. Looking back at history, the last time the average position of stock private equity was above 84.12% was on April 1, 2022, when the average position was 84.30%, slightly higher than the current level. Driven by ongoing accumulation over the past four weeks, the positioning structure of stock private equity has further concentrated towards high positions, with heavy or full positions becoming the market norm. Data from Private Equity Ranking Network shows that as of July 24, the proportion of stock private equity funds with heavy or full positions has soared to 70.43%. Additionally, as of July 24, the average position of stock private equity funds with assets over 10 billion has risen to 88.64%, ranking first among different scales of stock private equity funds and setting a new high for this year.
