Currently, the Inner Mongolia section of the Yellow River has entered a critical period of river freezing, and the length of frozen river continues to increase. According to the work arrangements of the State Flood Control and Drought Relief Headquarters, from December 17th to 19th, Vice Minister of Emergency Management and Vice Minister of Water Resources Chen Min led a work group composed of the Ministry of Emergency Management, Ministry of Water Resources, and Yellow River Flood Control Headquarters to Inner Mongolia to assist and guide the Yellow River ice jam prevention work. The work group pointed out that the Yellow River ice jam disasters are sudden, difficult to predict, and difficult to defend against. The Inner Mongolia section of the river is a top priority for ice jam prevention, and extreme weather in recent years has further increased the difficulty of ice jam prevention work. All levels of flood control authorities and relevant departments must adhere to the principle of putting people first and valuing life, firmly establish bottom line thinking and extreme thinking, implement and refine various ice jam prevention measures, and ensure the safety of Yellow River ice jam prevention.
