On July 14, 2025, Beijing lawyer Zhang Xiaoling complained that she had undergone annual physical examinations at the Beijing branch of iKang Guobin Health Care Management Group for 10 years without being diagnosed with the risk of cancer. When she was diagnosed with cancer in 2024, it was already in the advanced stage. She questioned iKang Guobin's physical examination for suspected "misdiagnosis and missed diagnosis." In July of this year, Zhang Xiaoling complained to the Beijing Municipal Health Commission about the relevant units and individuals. In August of this year, iKang Group sued Zhang Xiaoling for infringing on their reputation and demanded a compensation of 10 million yuan. On December 13 at noon, Zhang Xiaoling told reporters that the Beijing Municipal Health Commission had reached a preliminary conclusion regarding her complaint. The Beijing Municipal Health Commission replied that they did not find any falsification of laboratory data or physical examination results; There were issues at iKang Guobin's Xisanqi outpatient department, such as doctors practicing at multiple institutions without proper registration, improper collection of medical waste, and incomplete health examination reports. Considering Zhang Xiaoling's objections to some of the handling opinions, the Beijing Municipal Health Commission, after consultation with her, plans to organize and advance the technical appraisal of medical accidents related to her complaints against the Xine Outpatient Department, Xisanqi Outpatient Department, Peking University First Hospital, and Peking University International Hospital. Based on the appraisal results, they will supervise and ensure that actions are taken in accordance with the law and regulations.
