On the 13th, Thai Foreign Minister Don Pramudwinai held a press conference, reiterating that the landmines in the Thai-Cambodian border area that caused casualties to Thai soldiers were not "accidental", but were planted by the Cambodian side. The Thai side expressed disappointment at the comments made by US President Trump on social media. Don Pramudwinai said that the US side may not fully understand the true situation or have received incorrect information. The fact is that the Cambodian side has planted landmines in the border area seven times, which has been confirmed by observers, not just the Thai side's claims. On the 13th, Cambodia also used BM-21 rockets to attack civilian residential areas in Thailand, which was a deliberate attack by the Cambodian side. Trump said that the Thai side retaliated excessively, "but in fact, our retaliation is proportionate to their attacks". Don Pramudwinai said that the Thai side is disappointed by Trump's statement that the roadside bomb that caused casualties to multiple Thai soldiers was "accidental", as it has hurt the feelings of the Thai people. Don Pramudwinai said that currently, there are 6,000 to 7,000 Thai people stranded on the Cambodian side of the Poipet border crossing unable to return to Thailand. The Thai side has not prevented Cambodian and Thai-Cambodian residents from returning to their country, while Cambodia has repeatedly postponed the opening of the border.
