Zhejiang reports on the transfer of responsibilities and accountability related to the Central Ecological and Environmental Protection Inspection: 83 people involved, including 3 high-level officials.
From May 7th to June 7th, 2024, the Central Second Ecological Environment Protection Inspection Team conducted the third round of central ecological environment protection inspection in Zhejiang Province. On August 21st, 2024, the inspection feedback was given to Zhejiang Province, and at the same time, 4 ecological environment damage accountability issues discovered during the inspection were handed over, with a requirement to thoroughly investigate, clarify responsibilities, and handle them in accordance with regulations, discipline, and law. The Zhejiang Provincial Committee and Provincial Government attached great importance to this, firmly shouldering the responsibility of being the birthplace and pioneer of the concept of "Lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets", and implementing inspection rectification and accountability work with high standards and strict requirements. The Provincial Commission for Discipline Inspection and Supervision promptly established a accountability working group, accurately grasping the requirement to differentiate responsibilities, adhering to the principles of seeking truth from facts, clarifying responsibilities, and being cautious and prudent, organizing investigations and verifications carefully, scientifically defining responsibilities, accurately categorizing violations of discipline, ensuring the organic unity of political effects, legal effects, and social effects. Based on the facts ascertained, in accordance with the "Accountability Regulations of the Communist Party of China" and relevant regulations, 15 responsible units and 83 responsible personnel were seriously held accountable. Among them, there were 3 cadres at the department level, 31 at the county and department level, 49 at the township and below level; disciplinary actions were taken against 22 people, 21 were admonished, 15 were reported, and 25 were held accountable through other means.
