Argentine Cabinet Chief Manuel Adorni announced the two-year report of the current government on the 10th. Adorni stated that two years ago, President Mile set three major goals: eliminating the fiscal deficit and inflation, guaranteeing public order, and reducing public spending. Currently, Argentina has achieved a fiscal surplus for two consecutive years, with monthly inflation dropping from 25.5% in December 2023 to 1.6% in June this year, and the poverty rate dropping from 52.9% to 31.6%. In terms of public order and security, the national homicide rate is at its lowest level in 25 years. As of October this year, government public expenditure has actually decreased by 27.7% compared to 2023. During this process, the Mile government closed 8 ministries, dismantled nearly a hundred secretariats and deputy secretariats, eliminated over 200 redundant or outdated agencies, and reduced the number of state employees by about 60,000 people. Additionally, the Mile government continues to promote tax reduction measures to stimulate economic growth, reduce agricultural export withholding tax rates, and will eliminate tariffs on mobile phones and other electronic products starting from January next year.
