France will vaccinate 1 million cows against cow's warts skin disease.
French Minister of Agriculture, Food and Sovereignty Anne Jernaval said on the 13th that France will vaccinate nearly one million cattle against the bovine rhinotracheitis skin disease in the coming weeks, and will continue to implement group slaughtering policies. Jernaval said in an interview with a local channel of French Radio that vaccination will be mandatory. She also emphasized that, due to the fact that bovine rhinotracheitis skin disease can be asymptomatic and difficult to detect, in some cases the implementation of group slaughtering measures is "still necessary." The French government will assist affected farmers, "their losses and operational losses will be compensated."
