The 2025 Shanghai Auto Show, set to open on April 23, may become a turning point for the automotive industry's comprehensive transformation towards intelligent electrification. Its iconic feature is the reshaping of the market landscape caused by intense competition and the acceleration of the "second half" of intelligent and electric transformation brought about by technological advancements. For the 2025 Shanghai Auto Show, the reshaping of the market landscape is reflected in the further manifestation of the "Matthew effect" among participating brands. According to preliminary statistics by Financial Association Society, including Chinese brands such as China FAW, Dongfeng Group, SAIC Motor Corporation, BYD Company Limited, Geely, as well as international brands like Volkswagen, Mercedes-Benz, Toyota, traditional car manufacturers will all participate in this year's auto show. Among them, Xiaomi Auto, Hongmeng Zhihang, ONVO and Firefly under NIO, and the F3 Leopard under BYD will all make their debut at the Shanghai Auto Show for the first time. Based on the capabilities of their parent companies and the entry of new brands from ICT giants, the exhibition area at the 2025 Shanghai Auto Show will reach approximately 100,000 square meters, with an increase in the number of participating companies compared to previous editions. However, while new brands continue to enter, some car manufacturers such as Hyundai, Kia, Jaguar Land Rover, Polestar, and NIO will miss this year's auto show. This absence is due to various reasons, such as the continuous decline in market share for Korean brands like Hyundai and Kia since entering the Chinese market in 2002, or the need for more time for internal adjustments and strategic optimizations for Jaguar Land Rover. For some foreign brands, exchanging time for space has become a common choice. Unlike foreign brands like Hyundai, Kia, and Jaguar Land Rover who still have confidence in the Chinese market, new forces like Polestar and NIO, whose funds have dried up, may bid farewell to the Chinese car market. Not long ago, Zhang Yong, the former CEO of NIO, stated on his personal social media that he still serves as an advisor for NIO and is traveling around to raise funds for the company. Another manifestation of the reshaping of the market landscape is the acceleration of the "second half" of the intelligent electric transformation brought about by the rapid iteration of technology. According to data from the China Passenger Car Association, the retail penetration rate of new energy vehicles in the first quarter of this year has increased from 41.5% to 51.1%, with one of the drivers being the widespread adoption of intelligent assistance driving technologies. After confirming that Xiaomi YU 7 will be absent from this year's Shanghai Auto Show, the "Huawei faction" is expected to play a significant role. The all-new Landtu FREE from Huawei will be equipped with the latest high-end intelligent driving system from Huawei, utilizing a multi-modal sensor fusion solution. The flagship model Zun Jie S800 jointly developed by Huawei and Anhui Jianghuai Automobile Group Corp., Ltd. will make its official debut at the auto show, featuring an "L3-level intelligent driving architecture design." Prior to the auto show, Hongmeng Zhihang has already launched the Wenjie M8 and Xiangjie S9 extended-range versions, as well as the debut of the Shangjie brand. Additionally, the FAW Audi A5L, as the first Audi model to be equipped with Huawei ADS 2.0, will feature dual LiDAR + 11 cameras and support urban navigation. Under the wave of "intelligent driving equality," the pure visual technology route has made a breakthrough in overcoming cost bottlenecks, leading to a significant upgrade of intelligent assistance driving features with lower research and development and hardware investments. For example, the Xiaopeng G7 will adopt the AI Eagle Eye Vision solution, equipped with 11 cameras supporting full-scene navigation assistance driving functions in high-speed and urban road sections, emphasizing a seamless "park-to-park" experience; the NIO L90, aimed at expanding its presence in the mass market, also embraces the NT3.0 platform and utilizes a pure visual intelligent driving solution. Apart from intelligent driving, major automotive brands will also showcase their latest intelligent cockpit technologies empowered by AI. BMW, in collaboration with Alibaba's Tmall AI large model, will introduce for the first time an AI engine-supported intelligent cockpit and intelligent travel interaction scenarios; SAIC announced a partnership with leading AI companies to create an "AI car that understands your thoughts," which can not only plan travel routes and answer questions but also customize cabin environments and edit travel videos according to user preferences. In terms of new energy technologies, the combination of high-voltage platforms and ultra-fast charging technologies has become one of the "best combinations" for addressing range anxiety among pure electric vehicle users. Following BYD Company Limited's introduction of the "Megawatt Flash Charging Technology" in March, Huawei Digital Energy announced the launch of Megawatt Ultra Fast Charging technology on April 22, while Jike will showcase a fully liquid-cooled charging pile with a single peak power of 1.2MW. The Ideai i8 will come standard with 5C three-element lithium batteries and will be supported by over 2,000 Ideai ultra-fast charging stations covering the entire country. The BMW...
