The spokesperson of the Ministry of Commerce has answered questions from reporters about the inclusion of 11 US companies on the unreliable entity list. The spokesperson stated that in recent years, companies such as Skadico and BRINC Drone have engaged in so-called military technology cooperation with Taiwan despite strong opposition from China, seriously damaging China's national sovereignty, security, and development interests. In accordance with laws such as the Foreign Trade Law, National Security Law, and Anti-Foreign Sanctions Law of the People's Republic of China, and regulations such as the Provisions of the Unreliable Entity List, China will hold these companies accountable for their illegal actions.
Question: China has once again imposed sanctions on 11 companies involved in military sales to Taiwan by using the "Unreliable Entity List". What is the consideration behind this?
In recent years, companies such as Skadico and BRINC Drone have engaged in military technology cooperation with Taiwan, despite strong opposition from China, seriously damaging China's national sovereignty, security, and development interests. According to laws such as the Foreign Trade Law, National Security Law, and Anti-Foreign Sanctions Law of the People's Republic of China, and regulations such as the Provisions of the Unreliable Entity List, China will hold them accountable for their illegal actions.
China has always handled the issue of the Unreliable Entity List prudently, targeting only a very small number of foreign entities that pose a threat to China's national security. Foreign entities that operate in good faith and comply with the law have nothing to worry about. The Chinese government continues to welcome companies from all over the world to invest and do business in China, and is committed to providing a stable, fair, and predictable business environment for law-abiding foreign companies operating in China.
