The UAE has launched a low-cost AI inference model based on Alibaba's Qwen 2.5, claiming a 20-fold cost-effectiveness advantage over its peers.

The United Arab Emirates' Mohamed bin Zayed Artificial Intelligence University and G42 have jointly launched a low-cost reasoning model "K2 Think", claiming to only require 3.2 billion parameters and outperforming models with 20 times the size; the model is based on Alibaba's open-source Qwen 2.5, utilizing methods such as long-chain thinking supervised fine-tuning and reasoning stage expansion to enhance performance, designed for specific applications like mathematics and science.
