At the press conference held by the State Council Information Office on September 9th, Minister of Industry and Information Technology Li Lecheng stated that emerging industries are speeding up to take the lead. We are focusing on key areas of emerging industries that are developing rapidly, technologically advanced, have a wide market, and strong driving force, strengthening policy guidance and support to shape new development momentum and advantages. Advantaged industries with international competitiveness, such as new energy vehicles, photovoltaics, lithium batteries, ships, and marine engineering equipment, are being nurtured and strengthened. A large number of new formats and models, such as flexible customization, shared manufacturing, intelligent logistics, and smart security, are emerging rapidly. Last year, China's production and sales of new energy vehicles were equivalent to 9.5 times the total for the entire year of 2020, and the output of photovoltaic and wind power equipment also ranks among the top in the world. At the same time, our high-level industrial carriers are continuously growing, having fostered more than 60 national advanced manufacturing industry clusters in emerging industries and established 23 national independent innovation demonstration zones.
