Typhoon "Taba" will bring strong winds and heavy rain, causing school closures in many areas of Guangdong.
On September 7th at 17:00, this year's 16th typhoon "Taba" intensified to a strong tropical storm level, with its center located approximately 325 kilometers southeast of Yangjiang City, Guangdong Province. The Guangdong Provincial Meteorological Department predicted that due to its impact, there will be a severe wind and rain process on the land of Guangdong from the night of September 7th to the day of September 9th. As of 17:30 on the 7th, 26 regions in Guangdong have issued typhoon yellow warnings, and 5 regions have issued typhoon orange warnings, all of which are in Yangjiang. According to relevant regulations, primary and secondary schools, kindergartens, and nurseries in areas above the yellow typhoon warning should suspend classes. It has been confirmed that the Education Bureaus of Zhuhai, Yangjiang, and Yunfu in Guangdong have issued notices to suspend classes citywide, and in some areas of Zhanjiang, Maoming, and Jiangmen, with classes suspended starting today and the resumption of classes to be notified depending on the impact of the typhoon. In addition, as of 17:00 on the 7th, a total of 45 scenic areas in the province have been closed, and more than 60,000 people have been evacuated according to the Guangdong Provincial Command of the Three Defenses.
