The Ministry of Natural Resources has initiated a level three emergency response for marine disasters in Guangdong.

Affected by Typhoon Tapah, the western coastal areas of Guangdong will experience waves of 3 to 4.5 meters, and there will be a storm surge along the coast of Guangdong. The National Marine Environmental Forecasting Center has issued an orange alert for coastal waves and a yellow alert for storm surges. In accordance with the "Emergency Response Plan for Marine Disasters," the Ministry of Natural Resources has decided to initiate a Level Three emergency response for marine disasters in Guangdong Province starting at 8:00 am on September 7th. The responsible departments of the Ministry of Natural Resources in Guangdong Province, the National Marine Environmental Forecasting Center, the Marine Disaster Reduction Center of the Ministry of Natural Resources, and the South China Sea Bureau of the Ministry of Natural Resources are required to organize emergency monitoring, consultation and assessment, forecasting and warning, as well as disaster investigation and evaluation. Coastal units are reminded to strengthen the inspection of protective facilities such as seawalls and to make necessary preparations for flood control and wave prevention.
