On September 4th, the 13th Semiconductor Equipment and Core Components Exhibition and Semiconductor Manufacturing and Equipment and Core Components Chairman's Forum, jointly organized by the China Electronic Special Equipment Industry Association and Shanghai Securities NewsChina Securities Network, was held in Wuxi. Micro-nano CTO and Vice Chairman Li Weiming stated in his keynote speech, "In three to five years, the number of transistors on a single chip is expected to reach one trillion, and the entire global semiconductor market is expected to reach one trillion US dollars." At the beginning of his speech, Li Weiming emphasized that the "two trillions" demonstrate the future development prospects of the semiconductor industry, bringing new development opportunities for new materials, processes, and equipment. Li Weiming believes that "prepare materials before starting the troops", equipment and materials are the "supply" of wafer fabs, equipment suppliers must innovate ahead of the wafer fab rather than waiting for customers to innovate and then follow suit. In addition to meeting the innovation needs of customers, Li Weiming emphasized that domestic equipment suppliers have more efficient service capabilities in customer service, customized processes, and equipment, and can more efficiently support the development of local wafer fabs.
