23 rivers nationwide have experienced floodwaters exceeding the warning level.
From 8:00 on September 5th to 8:00 on the 6th, due to the impact of heavy rainfall in some areas, 23 rivers in Shaanxi, Sichuan, Chongqing, Gansu and other provinces experienced flooding exceeding the warning level. The maximum exceedance was 2.86 meters. The upper reaches of the Han River experienced the first flood of 2025, and the main stream in the upper reaches of the Han River in Shaanxi, Wuhou Town and Yang County, as well as the tributaries of Xushui River and Shitou River, experienced floods exceeding the guaranteed flow. Xushui River experienced the largest flood since the recorded data in 1950. This morning, the Ministry of Water Resources conducted a rolling consultation on the national rainfall situation and deployed measures for flood defense. Targeted warnings were issued to Fujian, Hubei, Guangdong, Chongqing, Sichuan, Guizhou, and Shaanxi. A working group from the Ministry of Water Resources has been dispatched to assist in flood defense efforts in Shaanxi Province. Currently, the Ministry of Water Resources has maintained a Level IV emergency response for flood defense in Sichuan and Shaanxi provinces.
