According to sources, the Trump administration is considering recommending White House economic adviser Pierre Yared for the International Monetary Fund to fill the vacancy left after IMF First Deputy Managing Director Gita Gopinath announced her resignation in July. Subsequently, IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva began evaluating potential successors for Gopinath and their qualifications, with Georgieva expected to announce personnel decisions before the October IMF/World Bank annual meeting.
