According to the relevant budget of the German federal government, between 2017 and 2030, Germany will invest approximately 390 million euros in dedicated funds to focus on building medium to long-distance commuting bicycle paths that are suitable for distances of 5 to 30 kilometers. 80% of the funding will be allocated by the government. Leveraging a three-tier mechanism of federal-state-municipality cooperation, Germany is constructing a high-quality bicycle road network that connects urban and rural areas, promoting industrial upgrading and the development of cycling tourism. Currently, the German government has formulated and implemented the "National Bicycle Plan 3.0," with the goal of becoming the "bicycle country" by 2030.
