Federal Reserve Board: Entering "blackout period" next week, only regional Fed presidents will give speeches.

Don't expect to hear much from the Fed officials before the mid-September meeting. The Fed board said that no officials have plans to speak publicly before September 7th. This puts us in a period of "silence" before the Fed's September meeting, and Fed Governor Warsh's speech on Thursday night is likely to be the last word from the Fed officials before the key meeting in September. There is still time to hear from regional Fed presidents on interest rate policies, including a speech next Wednesday by St. Louis Fed President Bullard on the U.S. economy and monetary policy.
