On August 27th-29th, local time, Li Chenggang, the International Trade Negotiator and Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Commerce, visited the United States and held meetings with officials from the United States Department of Treasury, Department of Commerce, and Office of the United States Trade Representative. The two sides discussed issues related to implementing the consensus reached in the phone call between the leaders of China and the United States, as well as issues concerning the China-US economic and trade relationship. Li Chenggang emphasized that China and the United States should uphold the principles of mutual respect, peaceful coexistence, and win-win cooperation, continue to play a good role in the China-US economic and trade consultation mechanism, and work together through equal dialogue and consultation to manage differences, expand cooperation, and jointly promote the healthy, stable, and sustainable development of China-US economic and trade relations. During his visit to the United States, Li Chenggang also had discussions with the National Committee on US-China Relations, the US Chamber of Commerce, and representatives from relevant American companies.
