The total number of jobs in the logistics industry continues to grow. Today marks the official launch of the logistics engineer training base.
Journalists learned from the China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing that in response to the challenges brought by artificial intelligence to industry development and employment, the China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing officially launched a logistics engineer training base today. This logistics engineer training base is located in Zhejiang Huzhou, the largest intelligent logistics equipment production base in the country. It mainly strengthens industry-university-research cooperation in logistics engineer training, technology transfer in school-enterprise cooperation, and serves the development of industrial clusters. Experts believe that logistics is one of the most active areas for the application and innovation of new information technologies such as artificial intelligence and big data. With the widespread use of intelligent logistics equipment, a large number of logistics engineering technicians at different levels are needed for design, development, manufacturing, installation, commissioning, operation and maintenance, as well as after-sales support. Currently, there is a large gap between supply and demand for various logistics engineering technicians. According to estimates, by 2025, there will be a shortage of 437,000 emerging positions such as intelligent scheduling algorithm engineers in the logistics field, with a shortage of 453,000 drone operators.
