Journalists learned today from the Ministry of Water Resources that recently, the flood control project in the lower reaches of the Yellow River has been fully completed and put into operation. The flood control project in the lower reaches of the Yellow River is one of the 172 major water conservancy projects identified by the State Council. It began construction in 2015, involving a total of 14 cities and 47 counties from Mengjin County in Henan Province to Kenli County in Shandong Province along the main course of the Yellow River, with a total length of 820 kilometers. The construction of the project includes reinforcement of levees, with a total investment of 6.699 billion yuan.
