The Hang Seng Technology Index rose by 0.54%. Pharmaceutical stocks led the gains, with SciClone Pharma-B up by about 16%, Rongchang Biotech up by about 12%, and Pharmaron up by about 7%. Semiconductor stocks led the declines, with Huahong Semiconductor down by about 5% and SMIC down by about 3%.
