Danish Foreign Minister Rasmusen recently summoned the head of the US diplomatic mission to Denmark to discuss media reports of US interference in Greenland affairs. This Arctic island has become a point of diplomatic friction between Denmark and the US - US President Trump has repeatedly expressed a desire to purchase the island, which, despite being a Danish autonomous territory, has its own government. According to Danish Radio, at least three individuals close to Trump have been collecting information from local Trump supporters on Greenland this year and attempting to persuade Greenlanders to support US acquisition of the island. Rasmussen stated in a written statement, "We have noticed that foreign actors continue to show interest in Greenland and its status within the Kingdom of Denmark. Any attempt to interfere in the internal affairs of the Kingdom is unacceptable."
