The Taiwan Affairs Office responds to Taiwan compatriots' registration of accounts on Douyin and Bilibili: Welcome to share the opportunities for development of the mainland internet.
On August 27, the Taiwan Affairs Office held a regular press conference. A reporter asked: According to reports, the Taiwanese internet celebrity "Guanchang" previously stated that he could not open an account on Douyin or Bilibili when he was in Macau, but he verified his account on Douyin on August 22. What is your comment on this? What are the requirements for Taiwanese compatriots to register an account on Douyin and Bilibili? Spokesperson Zhu Fenglian said that social networking platforms such as Douyin and Bilibili have clear regulations for internet users, including Taiwanese compatriots, applying to open accounts. As long as Taiwanese compatriots apply according to the rules and pass the review, they can open an account and share information with mainland internet users. We welcome Taiwanese compatriots to share the development opportunities of the mainland's internet and are happy to see internet users from both sides of the Taiwan Strait deepen mutual understanding, learn from each other, interact with each other, and promote friendship and well-being within the framework of mainland laws and regulations and the rules of relevant social networking platforms.
