On August 27th, the Emergency Management Bureau of Yangjiang City, Guangdong Province, released the "124" major road traffic accident investigation report for the Yangjiang section of the Shenhai Expressway. The report showed that the three accidents occurred within 17 minutes, causing 3 injuries and 4 deaths. The report concluded that the "124" major road traffic accident on the Yangjiang section of the Shenhai Expressway was caused by a small car speeding and losing control, colliding with a heavy semi-trailer due to inadequate implementation of safety responsibilities by the transport company and inadequate safety management by the local transport regulatory department, resulting in a major road traffic accident with production and operation responsibilities. The report also pointed out that after the second accident, the driver of the heavy semi-trailer did not set up warning signs in the direction of oncoming traffic, failing to effectively alert vehicles behind to yield.
