Analysts from the research department of Deutsche Bank stated that American companies may be more easily affected by tariffs than European companies. The latest Producer Price Index in the United States rose to 0.9% in July, indicating that tariffs are impacting businesses. Credit investors seem to underestimate the impact of tariffs on inflation and the Federal Reserve's interest rate decisions, increasing the risk of a downturn in the credit market. Deutsche Bank analysts said, "We expect profit margin pressure to continue for American cyclical companies, and high dollar rates remain a challenge for US issuers with high leverage."
