Former Sri Lankan President Wickremasinghe, who is in detention, has been admitted to the hospital for treatment.
On the 23rd local time, former Sri Lankan President Wickramasinghe was transferred to the Sri Lanka National Hospital in Colombo due to deteriorating health. Currently, he has been moved from the emergency treatment room to the intensive care unit. On the 22nd, Wickramasinghe was arrested on suspicion of misusing state funds, and was subsequently remanded by the Colombo Fort Magistrate's Court. After appearing in court on the 22nd, he was remanded until August 26th. On the evening of the 22nd, he was taken to the prison hospital due to high blood pressure and elevated blood sugar levels.
