The National Disaster Reduction and Relief Commission has activated the national level four emergency response for disaster relief in Yunnan.

On August 22, the National Committee for Disaster Reduction and Relief launched a Level Four national disaster relief emergency response in response to severe flooding and geological disasters in Yunnan Province. A working group was sent to the disaster area to inspect the situation on the ground, and to guide and assist local authorities in ensuring the basic living needs of the affected population and carrying out disaster relief work.
