The ChatGPT developer stated in a statement on Friday that it has established a legal entity in India and has started recruiting a local team for the office, which will be located in New Delhi. India is the second largest market for ChatGPT in terms of user numbers. OpenAI stated that its efforts to expand its business in India will involve collaboration with the government to tailor AI tools for the country, as well as partnerships with local businesses and academic institutions. OpenAI mentioned that India is one of the top five developer markets on its platform and has the most ChatGPT student users globally.
