On August 14, 2025, Wang Yi, member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and Minister of Foreign Affairs, met with Cambodia's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Prak Sokhonn, who was in Yunnan to attend the tenth Foreign Ministers' Meeting of Lancang-Mekong Cooperation. Wang Yi stated that China and Cambodia are ironclad friends and all-weather partners, always supporting and assisting each other. In April this year, President Xi Jinping made a historic state visit to Cambodia, and the leaders of the two countries jointly led the upgrading of China-Cambodia relations, drawing a blueprint for building a new all-weather China-Cambodia community of common destiny in the new era. China supports Cambodia in maintaining political stability, promoting economic development, and improving people's livelihoods. China is willing to work with Cambodia to enrich the connotation of the "Diamond Hexagon" cooperation framework, promote more visible results in the "Industrial Development Corridor" and "Rice-Fish Corridor," bring more benefits to the Cambodian people through China-Cambodia cooperation, and contribute to regional development and prosperity. Wang Yi said that in today's world of intertwined turmoil, peace and tranquility are needed. The holding of the Foreign Ministers' Meeting of Lancang-Mekong countries in China to discuss development plans, send out voices of tranquility, and form a consensus of tranquility is of great significance. China appreciates Cambodia's efforts to crack down on online gambling fraud, and hopes that Cambodia will continue to take strong measures and form a joint force with regional countries to combat cross-border criminal activities.
