The three major U.S. stock indexes closed lower, with Meta rising more than 11% and Microsoft rising 4%.
The Dow fell by 0.74%, the S&P 500 index dropped 0.37%, and the Nasdaq composite index slightly declined. The S&P 500 index initially fell 0.37%. The healthcare sector fell by 2.9%, the real estate sector dropped by 1.7%, while the materials, finance, energy, consumer discretionary, and technology sectors all fell by around 1%, and the telecom sector rose by 2%. The Nasdaq 100 index initially fell by 0.6%, with constituent stocks such as Arm Holdings falling by 13.4%, DexCom dropping by 9.5%, Qualcomm falling by 7.8%, AMD dropping by 5.2%, Tesla falling by 3.1%, Pinduoduo ADR rising by 0.4%, Amazon rising by 1.7%, MSTR rising by 1.8%, Microsoft rising by 4.1%, AppLovin rising by 7.6%, and Meta rising by 11.2%.
